Tableau Desktop

The Tableau for Students program has shifted over to providing free software through Tableau Desktop Public Edition. It is recommended to download Tableau Desktop Public Edition to complete any course work.

Tableau Desktop is an industry-standard data visualization software. It allows users to transform live or static data sets (including from databases) into interactive graphs, charts, etc. Users use raw data to create, modify, and share Tableau workbooks, dashboards, and worksheets in a more user-friendly format.

Tableau Desktop for Students allows students free, education-only access to the same Tableau Desktop software that many companies purchase. Students must validate their status each year to renew their eligibility for education-only access.

The purpose of this guide is to help students access the educational version of Tableau Desktop, understand its basic features, and utilize support contacts.

Note: ERAU-Worldwide utilizes both Tableau Public and Tableau Desktop for Students; the platforms are similar but do have some important differences:
