Set Up MyLab

Select Due Dates Below to start set up.

Instructors

If your class is a MATH, STAT, or ECON class you must also complete the Late Policy tab in addition to the Due Dates tab. ALL Instructors using Pearson MyLab must complete the Due Dates Tab.

Set Up for All Instructors: Changing Due Dates

Step 1

Modules in Canvas

Locate and select Modules in your canvas navigation, outlined

Navigate to the Modules link in your course.

Step 2

MyLab Assigment Manager

Select MyLab Assignment Manager in canvas modules, outlined

Select MyLab Assignment Manager under the MyLab Instructor Links Module (the location of this module will vary between courses).

Select Load MyLab Assignment Manager in a new window, outlined to launch MyLab Assingment Manager in a new window

Then on the new page, click the link to open it in a new window. Your Assignment Manager may have a course-specific description, such as MyLab Accounting™ Assignment Manager or MyLab Stat™ Assignment Manager.

Step 3

Manage

Select Manage, labeled one, then select Edit dates & status labeled 2

Follow these steps:

  1. Select Manage
  2. Select Edit dates & status

Edit Assignments

Quizzes and homework will have different start dates from one another.

  • For quizzes and homework, Start times will occur at 12:00 AM while Due times will occurs at 11:59 PM.
  • Quizzes will have Start and Due dates that match the Module start/end dates.
  • Week 1 homework will match Module 1's start/end dates. Weeks 2-9 will open 7 days before their Module starts, but end when the Module ends.

Step 5

Update All Settings

Select Update All Setings outlined

Once you have set the dates, click Update All Settings.

Step 6

Confirm Update

Confirm update by selecting OK outlined

You will see a prompt confirming your updates have been saved. Press OK.

Step 7

Done

Once completed, select Done, outlined

After assigning the materials and selecting the due dates, click Done.

Step 8

Finish

Assignment manager page that should reflect all assignments being assigned with a check (✓) mark

You will now be back on the Homework/Test Manager page. Notice your updated due dates and that your assignments have been assigned. All your assignments should display the check (✓) mark in the Assigned category.

MATH, STAT, & ECON Instructors have additional directions after setting up due dates.

Additional Directions for MATH, STAT, and ECON Instructors

Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics courses allow students to work on homework problems after the due date with an increasing penalty until it is worth nothing. This setting cannot be turned on until there is a due date. Please complete Due Dates set up before completing the following steps.

Step 1

Modules in Canvas

Locate and select Modules in your canvas navigation, outlined

Navigate to the Modules link in your course.

Step 2

MyLab Assigment Manager

Select MyLab Assignment Manager in canvas modules, outlined

Select MyLab Assignment Manager.

Select Load MyLab Assignment Manager in a new window, outlined to launch MyLab Assingment Manager in a new window

Then on the new page, click the link to open it in a new window. Your Assignment Manager may have a course-specific description, such as MyLab Accounting™ Assignment Manager or MyLab Stat™ Assignment Manager.

Step 3

Manage

Select Manage, labeled one, then select Bulk edit assigment settings labeled 2

Follow these steps:

  1. Select Manage
  2. Select Bulk edit assigment settings

Step 4

Select Assignment Type

Select Homework Assignment in the Assignmet Type drop-down field outlined

Under the Assignment Type drop-down, select Homework Assignments.

Step 5

Scoring Options

Select enable Late submissions, labeled A. Select Allow students to work and change score after due date, labeled b. Select Deduct late submissions penalty with penalty percentage labeled c. Select apply only to questions scored after the due date, labeled D

Under the Scoring Options section, complete the following:

  1. Select Late submissions.
  2. Select Allow students to work and change score after due date.
  3. Select Deduct late submission penalty. In the drop-down, choose Per day, from final score. Enter 10 as a percent.
  4. Select Apply only to questions scored after the due date.

Step 6

Apply Settings

Select Apply Settings outlined

Scroll down to select Apply Settings. All other settings are stored in the template and already set up.
