Opportunities

  • Control the pacing and timing of your presentation.
  • Design slides with templates, insert media into slides and easily upload PPT or PPTX files to Canvas assignments.
  • Ideal for importing images, creating graphs/charts, and using bulleted lists in your presentations for data-rich content.
  • Log into your ERAU account to automatically create and save presentations to the Office 365 One Drive cloud.
  • Can be formatted for display on multiple screens by adjusting the width of the slide show.
  • Can be created and edited in a web browser (limited features) or on a desktop (full features).

Considerations

  • To create a more visually appealing presentation with imagery and graphics, consider Microsoft Sway.
  • Presentations must be downloaded onto a computer for viewing. Microsoft Sway is viewable in a web browser and can be embedded in a discussion or webpage.
  • Requires images, audio, and video to be imported to the desktop application. Sway allows you to view and embed online content in a browser.
  • Files larger than 500MB will have difficulty uploading onto Canvas. Voiceover can cause files to be too large.
  • Alternatively, use Canvas Studio (Screen Recording) to narrate. This allows you to present as if you had an audience.

Considerations

  • If your focus is to create a data-driven presentation with charts, lists, and graphs, consider Microsoft PowerPoint instead of Sway.
  • Sway cannot create tables or charts for data. All graphs and tables must be imported as image files.
