Yellowdig Instructor

Program logo

Yellowdig is an innovative online discussion platform that uses gamification in an asynchronous environment to increase student and faculty engagement. The Yellowdig interface is inspired by social media layouts, making it intuitive to learn.

Instructors can facilitate student-led learning through accolades that verify quality posts. Students are encouraged to build genuine connections with their peers and the course content by discussing concepts throughout the life of the course, not a single module. Yellowdig promotes collaborative learning as students discuss course content, share new ideas and knowledge, and foster real social interactions.

The purpose of this guide is to help instructors access Yellowdig for the first time, set up their Yellowdig community each term, and understand the basic functionality of the platform.

Yellowdig continues to evolve as a dynamic discussion platform, therefore updates will be made to this guide frequently. Please review the guide thoroughly before teaching any course with Yellowdig.

Yellowdig requires minimal instructor setup each term. These steps should be completed during pre-term set up before the course starts. Students will not be able to access Yellowdig if these steps are skipped!

Visit the Term to Term Setup page to read more about setting up Yellowdig each term.
