FAQ

This page contains frequently asked questions. Select a question below for the answer.

Equipment Training includes four training simulations:

  • Personal Sampling Pump Calibration
  • Sound Pressure Management
  • Colorimeter Tubes
  • Gas Detector

In these simulations, you will interact with specific equipment to learn how they work. There are also quizzes to test your knowledge.


Hazard Investigation includes three investigative simulations:

  • Chemical Hazard
  • Confined Space
  • Noise Hazard

In these simulations, you'll move your avatar to assess the hazard using the correct equipment and PPE.

Walking around is available in Hazard Investigation simulations - you'll need to investigate the space to find the simulated hazards.

Use the following keys:

  • W: Move forward
  • A: Move left
  • S: Move backward
  • D: Move right
Keyboard layout

Each simulation includes instructions and a dialog box for actions. Help icons also provide instructions for specific tasks.

Simulation instructions

Additional details about the function of the simulation are provided by the help icons in each scene. If you roll your mouse over one, a message will appear that contains instructions relevant to the current situation.

Help Icon

Ensure your device meets the Computer Requirements for courses. Because VOSHE is a .exe file, you may need administrative rights on your device.

VOSHE uses significant RAM, so close unnecessary apps.

Most courses will require you to take a screenshot of the simulation(s). Follow explicit guidelines in your course on what material needs to be captured.

For Windows, use the Snipping Tool. For Mac, take a screenshot.
