This page contains frequently asked questions. Select a question below for the answer.

Use the in-application information icon for specific guidance within the simulation.

Training includes five training simulations:

  • Type A
  • Type B
  • Type C
  • Type D
  • Type K

In these simulations, you will observe and learn about different fire types and the most and least effective ways to extinguish them.


Scenarios include five assessment and mitigation simulations where you'll navigate to identify fire types and mitigation responses.

Walking around is available in the Fire Scenario simulations - you'll need to navigate the space to observe the simulated fire.

Use the keyboard arrows or these keys:

  • W: Move forward
  • A: Move left
  • S: Move backward
  • D: Move right

Ensure your device meets the Computer Requirements for Worldwide Courses. Because VFSE is a .exe file, you may need administrative rights on your device.

The VFSE program uses a significant amount of RAM. Close any unnecessary applications on your computer to free up RAM.


Still having issues? Contact Support for help.

Most courses will require you to take a screenshot of the simulation(s). Follow explicit guidelines in your course on what material needs to be captured.

To screenshot while inside the simulation, select the Screenshot button. Your screenshot will then be automatically be saved in a folder on your desktop, labeled with the first and last name you entered at the start of the application.
