Using RETScreen

Accessing RETScreen for the First Time

The first time you open RETScreen, you will be prompted to purchase a subscription. However, for the purposes of this class, you do not need to purchase one.

Select the checkbox next to Don't display this message again then select Continue in Viewer mode.

RETScreen Dashboard

Below is a brief overview of the RETScreen dashboard features:

1. Software Facility Level Workflow: This is the foundation for the RETScreen platform content. Hover over each area of the graphic to learn more about the process.
2. Analysis Type - Worksheets: The modules corresponds to the outer circle of the Software Facility Level Workflow. Open a module to learn more about benchmarks, feasibility, and performance.
3. Navigation Once you've select an analysis module type, the options in the navigation will change accordingly. The options correspond with the inner parts of the Software Facility Level Workflow.
4. Facility Types: You can choose to view information about a specific type of facility.
5. Integrated Features: This area provides extensive learning resources (user manual and eLearning) as well as settings you can view regarding product, cost, and benchmark data.
6. User Interface: THis area allows you to subscribe, change language, print the page, and access the RETScreen toolbox for conversation rate(s).
