Getting Started

There is no need to sign up for a Perusall account; accessing Perusall via Canvas for the first time will generate an account for you. Users should only ever access Perusall via Canvas; do NOT access the vendor website directly.

Note: Some courses utilize Perusall access for more engaging course textbook reading assignments. This allows students to annotate and communicate with peers, all in relation to course textbook topics. Where appropriate, students will be prompted to enter an access code (received after purchasing the textbook from the campus bookstore).

Students and faculty should NOT use the navigation link when accessing module specific graded assignments in Perusall. Instead, the content must be accessed via the modules. Failure to do so will not properly record a grade and the user will have to redo the assignment to earn a score in Canvas.

Note: The first time you access Perusall, you'll be prompted to take an optional tour of the interface; you are strongly encouraged to do this!
