Using MyLab

Select a task below to learn more about it.

Reviewing Assignments

You will need to review completed assignments and possibly give partial credit for problems that MyLab might have counted incorrect or partially correct. Use the guide below to help you.

Step 1

Modules in Canvas

Locate and select Modules in your canvas navigation, outlined

Navigate to the Modules link in your course.

Step 2

MyLab Instructor Gradebook

Select MyLab Instructor Gradebook in canvas modules, outlined

Select MyLab Instructor Gradebook under the MyLab Instructor Links Module (the location of this module will vary between courses).

Select Load MyLab Instructor Gradebook in a new window, outlined, to launch MyLab Instructor Gradebook in a new window

Then on the new page, click the link to open it in a new window. Your Instructor Gradebook may have a course-specific description, such as MyLab Accounting™ Instructor Gradebook or MyLab Math™ Instructor Gradebook.

Step 3

View Results By

Select an assignment type from the View Results By dropdown menu outlined and arrowed to

Under View Results By section, select next to Assignments. Select either Homework, Quizzes, or Tests.

Step 4

View Grade

Select a student grade under associated assignment to review, outlined and arrowed to

Select the score of the student you want to view under the assignment you want to review from the class roster.

Step 5

Review Graded Assignment

Select Review, outlined and arrowed to, next to associated assignment

Select Review.

Step 6

Grading/Partial Credit

Select a completed question from the assignment, outlined, to review for partial credit

Below explains how to review a graded item:

  1. The left panel provides a list of the test problems. You can select a problem to review the question and the student's answer.
  2. = indicates the student answered correctly.
    = indicates the student answered incorrectly.
    = and indicates the student answered partially correctly.
  3. To give students partial credit for problems, add points tot he field next to Grade at the top of the question. Then select Submit Grade

Extensions

During a term, a student may need a due date or time limit extension for HW, quizzes, or exams. Extensions can be adjusted for the individual student or an entire class. The purpose of this page is to help you grant an extension in the Pearson platform. Reach out to the college directly if you have specific questions about college policy regarding extensions.

How to adjust due date/time limit/number of attempts for an individual student

Step 1

Modules in Canvas

Locate and select Modules in your canvas navigation, outlined

Navigate to the Modules link in your course.

Step 2

MyLab Instructor Gradebook

Step 3

View Results By

Select an assignment type from the View Results By dropdown menu outlined and arrowed to

Under View Results By section, select next to Assignments. Select either Homework, Quizzes, or Tests.

Step 4

View Student

Select name of student to view from the class roster, outlined and arrowed to

Select the name of the student you want to view from the Class Roster.

Step 5

Select Settings Per Student, outlined and arrowed to under the Actions dropdown, outlined, relating to selected assignment, outlined

For an assignment you choose, from the Actions dropdown, select Settings Per Student. A pop-up window will appear.

Step 6

Select Use Individual Student Settings outlined, then fill in required due date extension information, outlined and select Save Settings, outlined

Select Use Individual Student Settings. Adjust the due date, number of attempts, and time limit as appropriate. Select Save Settings when finished.


How to adjust due date/time limit/number of attempts for entire class

Step 1

Modules in Canvas

Locate and select Modules in your canvas navigation, outlined

Navigate to the Modules link in your course.

Step 2

MyLab Assigment Manager

Select MyLab Assignment Manager in canvas modules, outlined

Select MyLab Assignment Manager under the MyLab Instructor Links Module (the location of this module will vary between courses).

Select Load MyLab Assignment Manager in a new window, outlined to launch MyLab Assingment Manager in a new window

Then on the new page, click the link to open it in a new window. Your Assignment Manager may have a course-specific description, such as MyLab Accounting™ Assignment Manager or MyLab Stat™ Assignment Manager.

Step 3

Choose Assignment

Select Assignment settings, outlined and arrowed to, after selecting the vertical elipses, outlined for the assignment choosen, outlined

Select the associated with the desired assignment. Select Assignment settings.

Step 4

Set New Due Date & Assign

Enter new due date information, outlined

Select the new due date to which you are extending the assignment.

Select Save & Assign at the bottom of the page, outlined

Select Save & Assign at the bottom of the page.

  1. Course Home Manager

  2. This allows you to enter the Pearson interface to access all content and integration navigation.

  3. Course Setting

  4. Allows you to change course settings; most settings are already determined as part of the template.

  5. Student's Solutions Manual

  6. Not all courses have a solution manual, but the ones that do will allow you to help by providing solutions and (occasionally) worked-out processes.

  7. Instructor Resources

  8. The instructor resources may vary, but this can include presentations, videos, interactive activities, accommodated lessons, etc.
