General Information

The General Information section includes information on:

  • Homework Assignments
  • Adaptive Practice Assignments
  • Reading Quizzes
  • Tools & Resources

These provide a general guide for the New WileyPLUS interface including an overview of the interface, tools/resources embedded in Canvas, and quiz/test/assignment settings. Select an option below to learn more.

Note: Policies regarding the number of attempts, time allotment, and point values for a specific quiz/test/assignment vary by course. Visit your course syllabus or course-specific information module for information about how your course utilizes New WileyPLUS.

Reading Quizzes should be completed after reading the text and before completing any WileyPLUS homework or quiz assignments to ensure you're prepared for graded work.

Homework/Quiz Assignments

With New WileyPLUS, all assignments are directly embedded in the course. For most courses, you'll find your WileyPLUS assignments in the modules.

Accessing Homework/Quiz Assignments

Homework or Quiz Assignments are designed to test your knowledge of the content for an accuracy grade. Your course may look different, but the process to access assignments is the same.

Step 1

Select Assignment in Canvas

Select a WileyPLUS assignment from canvas modules outlined and arrowed to

Open the assignment from the modules in Canvas. Links are directly embedded within the modules of your course.

Step 2

Open Assignment in New WileyPLUS

In New WileyPLUS assignment canvas interface select Open Assignment outlined and arrowed to

Select Open Assignment. You may need to scroll down to see the link.

Step 3

Start Assignment

In New WileyPLUS assignment select Start Assignment, outlined and arrowed to

Select Start Assignment.

Step 4

View Policies

View question policies outlined and arrowed to

To see the policies, select View Policies on a specific question.

Step 5

Assignment Policies

Question policies may vary by class and assignment. Please be sure to review specific assignments for their policies.

The policies may include information regarding:

  • Grade Release
  • Access & Availability
  • Attempts & Assistance

Step 7

Navigate Questions

Select to navigate between questions.

Step 8

Save for Later

Select Save for Later outlined and arrowed to

When answering questions, you may want to save it for later. Once you've chosen an answer, select Save for Later. Questions saved for review will be marked with a symbol and auto-submitted on the due date.

Note: This option may not be available for quizzes per policy settings.

Step 9

Submit

Select submit answer outlined and arrowed to

Select Submit Answer when you are ready to have your answer scored. You will get immediate feedback and, if the question policies allow, you'll be able to select a different answer choice to resubmit.

Note: This option may not be available for quizzes per policy settings - quizzes may require you to submit all answers at once for grading.


Reviewing Homework/Quiz Assignment Questions

Step 1

Select Questions

In your assignment opened in New WileyPLUS select Questions tab, outlined and arrowed to

Review Questions

View additional question information within the assignment including:

  1. Select which question(s) you'd like to view
  2. Question Number
  3. Time Spent on the Question
  4. Status of Question completion
  5. Question Score

Adaptive Practice Assignments

Adaptive Practice assignments are part of an adaptive learning system. It starts with a quick diagnostic for any chapter to determine your baseline proficiency on each topic in that chapter. Your diagnostic report can help you decide what to do next in studying or practicing.

Note: Not all courses will have Adaptive Practice Assignments. Visit your course syllabus for specific information about how your course utilizes New WileyPLUS.

Accessing Adaptive Practice Assignments

Step 1

Access Adaptive Practice Assignment

Select a WileyPLUS assignment from canvas modules outlined and arrowed to

Open the assignment from the modules in Canvas. Links are directly embedded within the modules of your course.

Step 2

Open Assignment in New WileyPLUS

In New WileyPLUS assignment canvas interface select Open Assignment outlined and arrowed to

Select Open Assignment. You may need to scroll down to see the link.

Step 3

Start Assignment

In New WileyPLUS assignment select Start Assignment, outlined and arrowed to

Select Start Assignment.

The Adaptive Practice Assignment questions will look similar to the example above, with the following functions:

  1. Assignment Progress bar with the Current Progress percentage and the Highest Progress percentage.
  2. Save the question for review later, prior to the assignment's due date.
  3. Submit Answer for scoring.

Progress & Sync

On the Adaptive Practice Assignment home page, progress of the assignment will be shown. The last time New WileyPLUS was synced will also appear.

Step 2

Progress & Points

Adaptive Practice Assignment Progress bar/points and assignment history outlined and arrowed to

Scroll down on the Adaptive Practice Assignment home page. The Progress bar tracks your completion of the assignment, you earn points by achieving benchmarks on the Progress bar. You can also view your Assignment History.

Step 3

Assignment History

You can view the following information for a section by selecting the section you want to review.

  1. Filter specific sections to review
  2. Activity Name
  3. Date Completed
  4. Time Spent on Activity
  5. Result

Step 4

Assignment Information

Additional assignment specific information outlined

Once the assignment is completed, review assignment questions to identify weak areas to focus on.

Step 5

Content Covered

Assignment specific information on content covered outlined and labeled A through C

Content Covered shows additional information on each section that an Activity has been completed for such as:

  1. Section Name
  2. Time Spent
  3. Number of Activities completed for the section

Step 6

Assignment Policies

Additional assignment specific policies outline

Assignment Policies will contain information relating to the specific Adaptive Practice Assignment being completed.

Resources

WileyPLUS provides many resources to help you better grasp the content.

The Wiley Course Resources option in Canvas not only provides you access to the eTextbook, but also provides numerous resources to enhance your experience.

Every class has Wiley Course Resources available, but the resources included per chapter may be different. Read below about the resources available.

The Wiley Course Resources page contains multiple resources including direct access to the WileyPLUS eTextbook. Select the icon next to a chapter to view additional resources for the chapter. Continue below for a full overview of all of the Wiley Course Resources available.

Additional Course Resources in specific chapter outlined and labeled A through D

The image to the right displays the types of resources you'll find in the Wiley Course Resources, below is a summary of each resource:

  1. Reference: This usually includes a real-world example(s) provided at the start of a chapter and is meant to engage the reader.
  2. Interactivity: These can include crosswords or flashcards that provide engaging study materials.
  3. eTextbook: These can be viewed by section, or at the top of the Wiley Course Resource page, you can open the entire eTextbook to look through.
  4. Video: These are video tutorials aligned with specific sections within the chapter.
  5. Skills & Instructions (not pictured): These vary and are not common in many chapters. But they can include links to external resources, additional guidance for content, etc.

Note: Not all chapters or textbooks will have some/all of these resources.
