Tools

In addition to having automatic access to the Lab Environments and eBook, instructors have analytics and reporting tools within the JBL interface. Select a tool option to learn more.

Lab View of the Dashboard

The Lab view of the dashboard allows you to start a lab and preview the lab guide. These options are the same for both students and instructors. Visit the Lab Environments section of this guide to learn more about the lab environment.

Additionally, instructors can open the Instructor Solution Manual. This will provide some sample answers to the Lab Exercises. All labs JBL creates are listed in the PDF, so be sure you are looking at the correct lab answers when reviewing.

Locate and select the Instructor Solution Manual outlined and arrrowed to on your JBL Cloud Desktop

Active Sessions

You can view what students are actively working on inside of the Cloud Desktop lab. The benefit of this is you can see, at any given time, when students are working.

Step 1

Select Activate

Select active sessions located in JBL Cloud desktop at top outlined and arrowed to

Above is an example of the Active Sessions view.

Students Enrolled in Lab

The Students tab allows you to view the lab session history for any student in the course. Students will not appear in this section unless they've actually started a lab session. This can be used to help you determine student activity and effort.

If you select the hyperlinked username of a student, you'll be able to see the student's entire session history including date and time stamps.

Above is an example of the view of the Students.

Analytics for Lab Sessions

The Analytics tab allows you to compare the students' Time on Task so you know if students are spending too much or too little time on a lab.

Above is an example of the view of the Analytics.

Reports

You can use the reports tool to generate an Excel list with the following:

  • Lab Sessions: Generates a list of student activity within the course.
  • System Checker: Generates a list of results your students received when they ran the System Checker.
  • Quality of Service: Generates a report that shows if any students have had network connectivity issues.
