Term Setup

As the instructor, it is your responsibility to create a microlearning collection and create 4 simulation groups for the course. Students will be expecting 4 unique group numbers that they can use to join the required simulations.

Note: The simulation game play and all ancillary learning activities are individual (not group) work. The group number identifies the correct instructor, course, and term within GoVenture.

Use the options below to create the micorlearning opportunities and to create all 4 simulations for the course.

Step 1

Log In

Log in to your instructor account at PlayGoVenture.

Step 2

GoVenture Advanced

GoVenture Entrepreneur Advanced outlined and arrowed to on your GoVenture Dashboard

From the dashboard, select GoVenture Entrepreneur Advanced.

Step 3

Microlearning

Select Microlearning under Actions, outlined and arrowed to

Select Microlearning.

Step 4

Create New Collection

Enter Microlearning collection name in field, outlined and arrowed to

From the dropdown, select Create New Collection. Give the collection a name using the following format:

TERM YEAR-SUBJECT CATALOG

Select Create.

Step 5

Select All

After selecting all, outlined and arrowed to, select save, outlined and arrowed to

Choose select all microlearning opportunities. Then select Save.

Step 6

Return to Dashboard

Return to the dashboard. Now you've successfully created a micorlearning collection. Continue to the Simulations tab on this page.

The simulations you will be creating are as follows:

  • Lemonade Stand
  • Kiosk
  • Full Business - PRACTICE
  • Full Business

Step 1

Groups and Reports

Select Groups and Reports, outlined and arrowed to, on your GoVenture dashboard

Select Groups and Reports.

Step 2

Create New Group

Select Create New Group, outlined and arrowed to, under Actions on your GoVenture dashboard

Select Create New Group.

Step 3

New Settings

Select New Settings, outlined and arrowed to, on the Create Group page

From the dropdown, select NEW settings.

Note: If you have taught before, you can copy previous settings. Be sure you are selecting the correct simulation to copy.

Step 4

Create Group

Fill out the Group Name field, outlined, and select create group, arrowed to

Enter the group name using the following format:

TERM YEAR-SUBJECT CATALOG-SIMULATION TYPE

Select Create.

Note: In total, you will end up making 4 groups per term. Naming convention is critical to ensure students are using the right simulation for course work.

Step 5

Adjust Group Settings

After group is created, adjust group settings with settings labeled A through G

Use the following to adjust the group settings:

  1. Group Name: TERM YEAR - SUBJECT CATALOG - SIMULATION TYPE
  2. Group Number: Copy this number to provide to your students.
  3. Microlearning: From the drop down, select the collection you made in step 5; TERM YEAR - SUBJECT CATALOG.
  4. Allow Student Reset?: Be sure this is set to NO to keep students from resetting their game.
  5. Business Type: Choose from three options - Lemonade Stand, Kiosk, or Full Business
  6. Leaderboard: Set to YES, allowing students to see their ranking compared to classmates.
  7. Play Limits: Set to UNLIMITED, allowing students to play without interruption.

Step 6

Create Simulations

As the instructor, you are required to create the 4 simulation groups listed below. Repeat Steps 2 to 5 for each simulation.

  • Lemonade Stand
  • Kiosk
  • Full Business - PRACTICE
  • Full Business

Your students will need the unique Group Number generated for each simulation. Provide the 4 unique group numbers to the students, copied in Step 5.
