Manually creating student groups

For an overview of all types of group activities, please visit the Overview page.

Note: In some classes, instructors will determine which students will work together, and in others, students can choose whom they will work with. Please refer to the Information for Instructors area of your course to determine how to group students in your course.

Follow the steps below to manually assign students to groups. If you elected to have the system automatically create groups for you while creating Group Sets, you do not need to take any further action.

**For GRP assignments, you must also assign the activity to a Group Set.**

Step 1

Go to the appropriate Group Set (created in a previous step) by selecting People

people and group button

Step 2

Select + Group and type in a name. Follow this step for as many groups as you need

Step 3

Either click and drag students into groups or select + next to the student’s name and select the appropriate group
