Software Requirements for Worldwide Courses

Below are the general software requirements for all Embry-Riddle courses. Additional software requirements vary by course; consult the Master Textbook & Materials List for course-specific software requirements. Many course specific software require students to have administrative rights on the device to install the software.

Note: Adobe Flash was deprecated as of December 2020 and is no longer functional on all up-to-date browsers. If you still have Adobe Flash installed on your device, it is recommended that you uninstall the software. Read more information on the End of Life of Adobe Flash Player.

Microsoft Office Microsoft Office 2019, Microsoft Office for Mac 2019, or Office 365.

Worldwide students can access and download Microsoft Office for free.
Web Browser Latest version of Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari browsers. Internet Explorer is not a supported browser.
Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware Updated anti-virus software is strongly recommended.
Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader Current Version
Java Latest update
Media Player Windows Media Player version 12 or higher, VLC media player (latest version) or Quicktime

Mac Computers and Windows-Only Course Specific Software

Academic programs including engineering, Decision Sciences, and Technology Management require students have access to a machine with Microsoft Windows. Many software applications used in ERAU courses will only run on the Windows operating system including, but not limited to:
